Full Job Description
London based Energy technology and Solutions company requires a developer with strong Python/Matlab skills for a short term (3 month) project
In short this developer is required to convert a Python optimiser that was developed in house to Matlab. The conversion is required to support a 3d party tool that only supports Matlab.
This role can be offered on an entirely remote basis to candidates in the UK, Ireland or any EU state.
Responsibilities of role/Key Deliverables:
- Analyse and understand the existing Python-based optimizer.
- Develop a MATLAB version of the optimizer, ensuring feature parity and performance efficiency.
- Work closely with the team to integrate the MATLAB optimizer with third party software (Homer).
- Maintain clear and detailed documentation throughout the development process.
- Collaborate effectively with both technical and non-technical team members.
- Provide regular updates and progress reports to project stakeholders.
Very Good MATLAB Knowledge: Demonstrable experience in MATLAB programming, including algorithm development and performance optimization. - Good Python Knowledge: Solid understanding and practical experience with Python programming.
- Very Good Communication Skills: Ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly to a diverse audience, including team members and stakeholders.
- Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a proven track record of overcoming challenging technical hurdles.
- Knowledge of Energy trading markets
- Experience in optimising battery systems
- Experience in the operation of microgrids
