Full Job Description
We're seeking an enthusiastic QA Engineer to join our Quality Assurance Team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone early in their QA career or transitioning from a related field who shares our passion for audio excellence. You'll be responsible for maintaining Cambridge Audio's exceptional standards across our award-winning product range, including Evo 75 / 150, Evo One, CXN100, EXN100, and AXN / MXN10 streamers, integrated / power amplifiers, and active speakers. With several exciting new products in development, you'll play a key role in maintaining our reputation for excellence through comprehensive hardware and software testing. This is a hybrid role with occasional travel to our London Bridge HQ for collaborative work, team meetings, hands-on testing sessions and social events.,
- Ensure our premium audio products consistently meet Cambridge Audio's exceptional standards through comprehensive testing of hardware interfaces, software features, and user experience across our entire product range
- Create and maintain detailed test plans and documentation while tracking bugs through to resolution using project management tools
- Evaluate and optimise user experience across our product range, ensuring intuitive operation and seamless integration of new features
- Conduct thorough testing of music streaming platforms and digital audio functionality, including USB audio, streaming protocols, and integration with services like Roon, Spotify Connect, TIDAL Connect and Google Cast
- Monitor production releases and maintain compliance with certification requirements
- Support hardware / software engineering teams during development cycles and work with Customer Support to identify root causes of issues
- Participate in departmental meetings and processes to ensure work progresses through agreed workflows
- Stay informed about latest test platform technologies and contribute to test automation initiatives
- Contribute to the development and testing of next-generation Cambridge Audio products, helping shape the future of our prestigious audio products
Strong analytical mindset and attention to detail - Understanding of digital audio principles (file formats, sample rates, etc.)
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and systematic approach to testing
- Strong communication and documentation skills
- Basic networking knowledge
- Familiarity with or willingness to learn Linux command line operations
- Enthusiasm for learning new technologies and testing methodologies Desirable Experience :
- Previous QA testing experience (manual or automated)
- HND / BTEC level or equivalent qualification in Electronics, Computer Science, Audio Technology or related field
- Understanding of music streaming technologies (UPnP, Roon, Google Cast, Spotify Connect, TIDAL Connect)
- Linux command line fundamentals (ssh, scp, grep, tail, ping, top, netstat and dmesg)
- Basic programming knowledge or interest in learning Python for test automation
- Experience with test management tools (Cucumber Studio, TestRail)
- Experience with project tracking and collaboration tools (Jira, Confluence)
- Network fundamentals (TCP / IP, UDP, UPnP / SSDP, mDNS / DNS-SD)
- Network analysis and packet inspection tools (Wireshark, Charles Proxy)
- Background in audio, electronics, or related technical field
