Full Job Description

We are looking for a passionate and people-oriented QA Lead/Manager. The role will involve establishing and then leading our small QA team, working closely with our highly skilled software engineers to ensure that the software we release meets our exacting quality standards. The QA team members will be managed by the QA Lead/Manager but will perform their day-to-day work Embedded within individual The role will report to one of our senior engineering leaders. To be successful as a QA lead/manager, you should have extensive knowledge of QA techniques and processes, exceptional human interaction skills, great communication, and a working knowledge of different engineering disciplines and how they relate to one another. You will have proven people-management and technical skills, an appreciation for the complex nature of our industry and be comfortable working in a fast-moving startup environment. You will have proven QA technical skills, an appreciation for the complex nature of our industry and be comfortable working in a fast-moving startup environment with a modern tech-stack (including but not limited to: Kotlin, Angular/Typescript, Python, C++, C#/.NET, gRPC/protobuf, GitLab, AWS). Skills and Experience:

  • High empathy and ability to keep the team members motivated, informed and aligned with company strategy.
  • Looking after career development and ensuring each member is working at their best.
  • Working closely with software teams and product management to define and execute test plans, to ensure that released software meets internal and customer requirements, and is delivered on time.
  • Leading the work of the QA team across multiple projects, while ensuring agile software development best practices.
  • Making use of optimal tooling to enable the QA team to design and execute test plans, manage requirements, perform task estimation and analyse the results, ensuring that results are clearly summarised and presented.
  • Defining appropriate and agreed KPIs to provide regular reporting of QA performance and team progress.
  • Determining the need for training and talent development.
  • Expanding the teams while applying best hiring practices.

    Bachelor's degree in software engineering or related field, further degree an advantage - Or equivalent experience.
  • Proven people-management and QA technical skills.
  • Track record of developing, managing and delivering QA plans for complex projects.
  • Experience with Scrum and Agile methodologies.
  • Start up experience advantageous
  • Experience with test automation is not a requirement but will be seen as a significant advantage
  • Having worked with test automation environments, orchestrating, managing them and providing input on their designs would be distinctly advantageous
