Are you a QA professional with experience as a Manual Test Engineer within a Software development environment? We are looking for a QA Test Engineer to join us. Our QA Test Engineers provide a crucial element to our software lifecycle, along with helping us on our journey to introduce more automation across our processes. You would be working closely with our experienced team, they will be keen to provide encouragement, along with giving you the advice and exposure to learn and develop your knowledge. Solutions are provided through innovative web delivered software and connected mobile applications. /More about the role: myairops QA Test Engineers are involved throughout the software development lifecycle of the myairops engineering team. They are responsible for the manual testing elements of quality assurance, along with contributing to the development and implementation of test automation. /Primary Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Work as part of cross functional, engineering project team to ensure quality from requirements definition through to delivery.
  • Contributing to a team culture committed to effective communication, respect, values and supporting each other to meet individual and common goals.
  • Engaging with stakeholders across the team, using a pragmatic approach to achieve sign off, without compromising on stability and/or defined requirements.
  • Analyse User Story's engage with stakeholders, creating comprehensive and repeatable test plans and cases.
  • Perform manual test execution, discussing findings with stakeholders (such as developers, product owners) and where needed challenging stakeholders if requirements are not being met.
  • Provide additional exploratory testing, which goes beyond the minimum specification of the story under test, considering business workflow, useability considerations, other features & user stories.
  • Create additional test plans & cases to provide suitable test coverage beyond the initial user story, where required.
  • Produce documentation to help document and/or demystify complex areas of the test framework.
  • Contributing to the drive towards automated testing where it is appropriate, as a continual part of the overall engineering process
  • Contribute to refinements, helping to define acceptance criteria for specified items.
  • Identify and promote opportunities for reusing test cases across the wider product offering.
  • Assist and support in bug management life cycle.

    Experience as a Manual Test Engineer within a Software development environment:
  • Agile experience.
  • Experience with Azure Dev-ops or equivalent (e.g Jira).
  • Understanding of software testing, its main concepts, processes, different testing levels, methods and types.
  • Strong collaborative team player, able to demonstrate positive team ethos and effective communication.
  • Critical thinking and analytical skills to examine issues, prioritise tasks and what information to include in tickets.
  • Ability to analyse User Story's, engaging with stakeholders and create comprehensive and repeatable test plans and cases.
  • Ability to perform manual test execution, discussing findings with stakeholders (such as developers, product owners) and where needed challenging stakeholders if requirements are not being met.
  • Ability to provide additional exploratory testing, which goes beyond the minimum specification of the story under test, considering business workflow, useability considerations, other features & user stories.
  • /Desirable:
  • Automation experience (ideally JavaScript & Cypress).
