Full Job Description

  • Promote a Nuclear and Personal Safety Culture
  • Ensure the quality standards of the joint venture and the client are consistently met and compliant with the specification
  • Encourage continuous improvements across the project
  • Promotion and implementation of the Project Quality Management System and Joint venture process
  • Interact with project construction and suppliers in accordance with ITP's to ensure correct fabrication & installation
  • Conversant with nuclear fabrication specifications
  • Fluent with material certification review
  • Participate with audit activates both at supplier works on on-site
  • Timely, effective and concise reporting
  • Promote a disciplines approach to supplier deliverable approval and concurrent review of life time quality records
  • CSWIP qualified Welding Inspector 3.1 or 3.2
  • PCN ll qualified in LPI/MPI/RI/U/T
  • Painting Inspector, Qualified, Iccor level 2 or equivalent
  • NEBOSH/IOSH/CCNSG Safety Passport training

About the opportunity: The Box Encapsulation Plant project is one of the most important construction projects at the Sellafield Site, the plant will play a vital role in Sellafield's 100-year clean-up programme by taking nuclear waste recovered from the sites original waste plants and encasing it in concrete so it can be stored in a modern building. The plant is primarily designed to deal with waste from the Magnox Swarf Storage Silo, one of four legacy waste plants prioritised for clean-up by Sellafield Ltd's owner, the Nuclear Decommissioning Authority (NDA). Alongside that work, the plant will also receive certain wastes from the other three legacy waste stores, the First Generation Magnox Storage Pond, the Pile Fuel Storage Pond, and Pile Fuel Cladding Silo.
