Full Job Description

Our Partner College Based in St Albans is currently seeking an experienced Nurse Practitioner to join their healthcare team. This college campus, located near the vibrant town of St Albans, provides education and care for young people aged 11 to 25.
The institution focuses on equipping students with vital life skills, enabling them to become independent and contributing members of society. Through a tailored curriculum that fosters knowledge and practical skills, St Albans College inspires learners to excel based on their interests and abilities.
The Nurse Practitioner will be instrumental in maintaining student well-being, providing expert care, and supporting learners with a range of medical needs. As a critical part of the health team, the Nurse Practitioner will ensure that students receive the highest standard of care, enabling them to participate fully in the school environment.
Responsibilities:
Administer oral and/or nasal suctioning when required.
Change PEGs for learners with gastrostomy needs.
Provide oxygen therapy to students.
Manage urinary diversion and stoma care.
Perform catheter care for students requiring assistance.
Support students with epilepsy and monitor their condition.
Implement safe moving and handling practices.
Monitor and manage diabetes in affected learners.
Provide immediate first aid when necessary.
The successful Nurse Practitioner will work closely with staff and students, playing an integral role in the school's mission to foster independence and prepare young people for future success.
