Applications are invited for a Qualitative Researcher working with Dr Brian Nicholson (Associate Professor) and Dr Anna Dowrick (Senior Researcher) on projects exploring how to improve the equitable implementation of cancer detection initiatives.
The successful applicant will lead on co-designing and evaluating a pathway for a new breath test for gastrointestinal cancers in primary care and evaluating improvements in colorectal cancer detection. Responsibilities will include leading on qualitative data collection and analysis in collaboration with the wider team, identifying and managing the relationships with key informants and stakeholders and leading the writing of research and policy outputs individually and in collaboration with others, including publishing in internationally leading peer reviewed journals.

You will be a highly skilled qualitative researcher ready to make the next step in your career, bringing enthusiasm and social science expertise to exploring innovations in cancer detection. You will hold a PhD/DPhil in relevant subject area, e.g. health services research, sociology, anthropology, health psychology, science and technology studies, or be within three months of completion. You will demonstrate a proven ability to build productive relationships within a multi-disciplinary academic and/or health care environment. You will be highly motivated and able to work independently and unsupervised, managing your own workload of complex tasks and competing priorities.

You will be based in Radcliffe Primary Care, Nuffield Department of Primary Care Health Sciences, Radcliffe Primary Care Building, Woodstock Road, Oxford, OX2 6GG as your normal place of work, but you will be able to agree a pattern of regular remote working with your line manager.
