An exciting opportunity to lead on quality assurance within the Learning & Development Team at South Tees Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust has become available.

The Learning and Development Team are responsible for delivering and designing programmes that are role-relevant and health sector endorsed. Providing the highest quality and most engaging and skilled tutors and trainers, we look to employ the most effective, appropriate, and innovative delivery in conjunction with assessment methods.

The post holder will manage, motivate and develop the WBL Training Advisor/ Facilitator / Employability team, providing the required governance, oversight and challenge to ensure the effective delivery of high quality apprenticeships and training which meet the needs of the organisation and are a positive and progressive learning experience for the apprentice, delegate or Employability service user.

They will take line management responsibility for the WBL Learning and Employability team reporting directly to the Learning and Development Operational Team Lead.

Along with the Learning and Development Operational Team Lead the post holder will work closely with strategic and operational leaders across STRIVE and other services to ensure strategic workforce development requirements are enabled through apprenticeship programmes and Continuous Improvement (CI) training where relevant.

Main duties of the job

o The post holder will lead on quality assurance and improvement of STRIVE programme areas, assessment and learning, CPD and work with key team members on quality of teaching.

o The post holder will develop and maintain effective relationships with current and future stakeholders and support to implement WBL programmes to meet need in response to the Training Needs Analysis.

o The post holder will represent the Learning and Development team at relevant meetings and events, promoting the service and building on the quality processes in place.

o The post holder will lead on quality assurance and improvement of STRIVE programme areas, assessment and learning, CPD and work with key team members on quality of teaching.

o They will apprise the Team Lead of any assurance risks to external apprenticeship programmes and will work on mitigation to ensure that the highest quality assurance is in place for apprenticeship programmes.

South Tees Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust offers leadership and improvement training to all new staff to the Trust; this training programme has been designed to support our leaders in developing their understanding of leadership and management skills. You will be expected to attend the leadership development programme, and the Quality Improvement Programme that the Trust delivers.

After you complete this four and a half days of training you will be able to explore further leadership and improvement training opportunities, we offer further in-house courses dependent upon your role and bitesize programmes and leadership apprenticeships at level 3, 5, 6 and 7.
