Full Job Description

We're looking for an experienced QA Lead who can work with our UK Product Team as well as our offshore Dev Team to ensure new product features are fit for release and of the highest standard.This role will be primarily based in the Compass UK&I offices in Birmingham within the Digital Team. You will work closely with the Product Manager, UX Lead, Business Analysis, Offshore Dev Team and other areas within the business to ensure everything is ready to test before being released into the live environment. This role is all about playing a key part of the project life cycle, from a quality and testing perspective. You will be required to vocalise issues and/or concerns to project team and developers efficiently and be the driving force behind making efficiency improvements and building strong relationships.   • Translate functional requirements and specifications into detailed test cases.
  • Writing your own Test Plans and Status Reports
  • Running daily triages during test execution phase
  • Perform manual testing for a range of software and hardware products.
  • Document test strategy and approach.
  • Execute test cases and analyse results.
  • Reporting, logging, tracking and managing defects in Azure Dev Ops
  • Work with cross-functional teams to ensure quality throughout the software development lifecycle
  • Identify and escalate any risks and issues where appropriate
  • Continuously improve testing processes and methodologies to enhance efficiency and effectiveness, identifying areas for improved testing efficiencies, test automation and implementation of automated test solutions
  • Participate, Develop and enhance test automation framework for multi-functional web and mobile app-based solution
  • Support execution and debugging with internal agile squad teams
  • Maintain test environments and test data to support ongoing testing activities.
  • Verify entry and exit criteria and defect management activities
  • Perform User Acceptance Testing (UAT) to ensure solutions meet user requirements and business requirements.
  • Collaborate with software developers, business analysts, and other stakeholders to understand system requirements and ensure test coverage.
  • Identify, prioritize, and track defects using issue tracking tools (e.g., Jira) and ensure timely resolution with development teams.

    Proven experience as a QA Tester or similar role, with a focus on end-to-end testing and UAT.
  • Experience with testing websites, mobile apps and integrated systems
  • Experience with both hardware and software testing, understanding how one influences the other
  • Experience in writing clear, concise and comprehensive test plans and test cases
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to quickly assimilate risks and issues and impacts to influence decision making to testing
  • Technically minded, with an ability to think out of the box and find solutions for complex testing scenarios
  • Extensive experience of understanding complex business processes, system, and project interdependencies to anticipate user behaviour or risks to systems
  • Experience with Agile, Iterative and Waterfall software development lifecycles
  • Working experience of scrum, agile, DevOps methodology
  • Working experience of Azure Active Directory B2C, salesforce, WebSphere
  • Experience/knowledge of API testing and working with JSON, XML
  • Exposure to testing automation tools and principles
  • Experience of running automated test suites in CI/CD environments using azure DevOps pipelines
