Full Job Description

The Quality Assurance Manager at Burton Brewery will oversee Quality and Food Safety initiatives, ensuring compliance with food and feed safety guidelines and BRC GS standards. This role involves monitoring performance metrics, identifying opportunities for improvement, and collaborating with production teams to develop action plans. The QA Manager will foster team participation, enhance skills, and provide the necessary resources and support to implement sustainable solutions while managing food defense and authenticity measures on-site., 1. Execution of Quality and Food Safety Initiatives: + Lead the implementation of Quality and Food/Feed Safety standards in partnership with Brewing & Packaging Operations. + Ensure operations teams possess the requisite skills and knowledge to maintain Q&FS standards and that the Quality Management System meets all prerequisites. 2. Enhancing Quality KPIs: + Drive the improvement of Quality KPIs by assisting operations teams in identifying root causes of issues and supporting Statistical Process Control. + Collaborate with production teams to create Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) that prioritize quality and safety, perform audits, and monitor progress on corrective actions. 3. Collaboration with Operations Leadership: + Work closely with Brewing & Packaging Operations Leadership to ensure effective implementation of the Quality and Food Safety Management System. + Assist operational teams during quality or food safety incidents and in interactions with regulatory agencies, clearly communicating targets and new processes. 4. Support for Trial and Change Management: + Aid the Brewery Leadership and Innovation Teams in adhering to Trial and Change Management procedures, ensuring comprehensive Food Safety and Quality Risk evaluations for new product launches and process modifications. 5. Quality Control and Governance: + Ensure proper handling of non-conforming products according to established procedures and maintain up-to-date quality control documents aligned with global standards. + Actively participate in Governance Pillar initiatives and support the deployment of WCSC 2.0 in Brewing & Packaging departments.

  • Brewing and quality-related qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in a scientific, brewing, or quality-related discipline
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in the brewing industry with a solid understanding of quality control and assurance processes.
  • Experience in brewing, quality control/assurance, lab work, and leadership. Minimum HACCP Level 3 and Food Safety Level 4 certifications, along with lead auditor training certification.
