Full Job Description

Working within the Clinical Governance Team, the Quality & Audit Officer is responsible for undertaking clinical governance compliance audits and clinical audits aimed at producing positive changes to practice to enhance continuous improvements in the quality of care delivered to our patients. £44,400 Per annum 40hrs per week working Monday to Friday, however some hours outside of this are required at times. 25 days annual leave plus Bank Holidays This is a National role with extensive travel across the UK, Mileage will be reimbursed at 25ppm The Quality & Audit Officer will report to directly the Governance & Development Lead and provide support into all clinical governance activities and improvement projects whilst demonstrating compliance to legal and other national health care standards. Essential:

  • Registered as Registered General Nurse (RGN), dual RGN & Registered Mental Nurse (RMN) or Paramedic, including full membership of the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) or Health Care and Professions Council (HCPC) or Allied Health Professional or Science Degree.
  • Proven knowledge of and understanding medical terminology (such as an allied healthcare professional/medical science qualified individual).
  • Ability to work swiftly, with accuracy, in a busy environment.
  • Confident working independently with minimal supervision (home-based role)
  • A full UK driving licence.
  • Competent in oral and written English
  • Committed to completing training that is a requirement of the role.
  • Basic IT Skills: Confident updating central computer records on multiple systems, including the set up and design of Microsoft Excel spreadsheets for project data.
  • Personal integrity and commitment to values-driven service ethos
  • To be aware of and maintain the confidentiality of all information gained within the working environment

  • Be able to work individually and as part of a team
  • Demonstrable understanding of Clinical Governance, its implementation, and processes
  • Experience of carrying out clinical audits ideally within healthcare settings
  • Manage audit/ improvement projects which includes setting up a project timetable that is achievable whilst meeting the required project methodology
  • Analytical skills & statistical skills
  • Good organisational skills with the ability to plan and execute several overlapping projects
  • Good time management and prioritisation skills with the ability to plan to meet tight deadlines without compromising standards
  • Positive attitude and flexible approach to working; able to re-organise tasks as appropriate in response to changing demands
  • Computer Literacy- Demonstrable working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Teams, Internet, Email and Outlook.
  • Statistical analysis skills.
