Support the production facility with required chemical analysis & testing on incoming materials and in-process materials and feedback results to the responsible parties. Assist the technical department in new product development activities & research via experimentation. Maintain a working laboratory including general housekeeping and stock/consumables re-ordering duties. Responsibilities
- To provide good technical support to all relevant parties.
- Preparation of samples for analytical testing on incoming materials and processed materials made on site.
- To monitor, maintain and improve quality throughout the organization.
- To make a relevant contribution to the quality assurance process within the organization.
- Conduct Internal Audits to ensure compliance to International standards i.e. ISO9001, ISO13485, 45001 and 14001.
- Ensure the Calibration process is monitored and under control.
- Use of test equipment such as tensile tester, hardness testers & UV-Vis Spectroscopy equipment.
- Analysis of test data to identify trends and areas for process improvement that will reduce product variability & improve scrap rates.
- Maintaining a well-stocked inventory of laboratory consumables and maintaining lab & equipment cleanliness on a daily basis.
- Working unsupervised in a laboratory environment as well as part of a team during investigatory & development projects.
- Reviewing process control and capability within Chemical Processing/manufacturing areas.
- Working along side the Quality Engineers in supporting the Business requirements.
- Work alongside HSE officer to maintain COSHH database, the control the movement of all hazardous materials and wastes on site and participate in risk assessments throughout the plant where applicable.
- Implementation of corrective & preventative actions (either individually or as part of a team) as required throughout the plant.
- Promote a safe working environment throughout the plant Any other duties commensurate with the position as and when required.
- Existing laboratory experience .
- Clear, precise and articulate communication skills.
- Computer literacy (MS Office essential) and good clear presentation skills (SAP experience an advantage but not essential).
- A good team player but very comfortable to work alone.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new tasks and challenges.
- Ability to manage time and work load efficiently.
- Ability to record, organise and manage all data generated in a structured and easily referenced format for traceability purposes.
- Effective and confident interpersonal and communication skills.
