Full Job Description

The establishment and development of a reliable internal product quality system that equips the business for growth ensuring that customers receive the quality of product that they expect and that comply with relevant standards.

To proactively work with product team, operations and supply chain to integrate QC checking processes and standards across the business, and support customer service in resolving customer facing quality issues.,

  • To develop and implement an annual Quality Plan aimed at establishing and delivering a robust product quality process ensuring products are fit for purpose and supports the overall quality objectives of the business in line with the QMS system as it is implemented.

  • Ensure compliance to relevant regulations including WRAS, CE and BS - building relationships with necessary compliance bodies and supply partners and being their point of contact in the business and training relevent necessary stakeholders internally.

  • Working alongside the Product team, build an internal technical knowledge hub, tied to the company ERP system that can be used as a reference for Sales and Customer Service.

  • Oversee supplier product and part-level quality investigations, orchestrating the necessary internal parties to resolve issues and liaising with suppliers where required.

  • Oversee quality checks on incoming stock and assembled items - implement system of goods-in checks against agreed standards in conjunction with product team and train operatives to complete them.

  • Assist customer service with compliance questions and in resolving product issues in the field.

  • Be the point of escalation of all product quality or compliance related matters within the business.

  • Manage product NCR system, driving root cause analysis investigations on product issues, clearly communicating with the relevent stakeholders to establish corrective action and proactively following up to ensure a timely resolution of all cases.

  • Assist and support QMS being internalised in business, in line with UKAS accredited ISO9001 compliance.

  • Assist the EMT in implementing ISO9001 for the business and in preparing the business for ISO14001: Environmental accreditation.

    Level 4 or above qualification in Quality Management, Quality Assurance, Design or Engineering. Would suit an individual who has completed a modern apprenticeship in a relevant field and has a 5 or more years' experience post-training specifically in a Quality role.

  • With a passion for delivering high quality products, the ability to read technical drawings, with a sound base knowledge of Engineering and working with tolerances, is essential.

  • An internal audit qualification would be beneficial as would knowledge, understanding and practical application of hydrodynamics.

  • A proficiency in all Microsoft Office products is essential.

  • A self-starter who takes ownership of the role and becomes a cultural architect for Quality in the business.
