Full Job Description

Overall Purpose of the Role: The Quality Engineer is responsible for deploying and maintaining the Manufacturing Quality Operating System within the production environment. This role ensures conformance to customer specifications and supports production on all quality-related issues, acting as the voice of the customer within the plant.,

  • Manage the Internal Audit system, including System, Process, Product, and Layered Process Audits (LPA).

  • Lead cross-functional investigations into internal and external nonconformities.

  • Ensure effective resolution through structured problem-solving and team collaboration.

  • Support third-party accreditation audits to ensure compliance with industry standards.

  • Represent customer interests within the plant, ensuring their specifications and expectations are met.

  • Define, agree upon, and implement visual standards.

  • Provide training as necessary to maintain these standards.

  • Ensure Manufacturing documentation, such as Control Plans, Flow Charts, and FMEAs, are accurate and up-to-date.

  • Actively participate in the NPI process, ensuring the smooth introduction of new products and tooling.

  • Support the creation of measurement system programs and ensure their repeatability and accuracy.

  • Interpret X-ray analysis results and provide feedback as needed.

  • Review measurement reports and offer feedback to technical teams.

  • Ensure non-conforming products are managed effectively.

  • Compile and distribute daily, weekly, and monthly quality reports

  • Lead internal quality reviews and ensure improvement actions are effectively implemented.

  • Manage and develop a team of Quality Technicians.

  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement throughout the business.

  • Maintain effective data management systems, including booking rejects and managing purchase orders.

  • Report quality issues and actions to Shift/Team Leaders from each department.

  • Champion safe working practices to protect the health and safety of all employees.

    Comprehensive understanding of quality processes and procedures.

  • Knowledge of aluminium die-casting processes.

  • Familiarity with ISO9001 in a manufacturing environment.

  • Experience in auditing within a manufacturing environment.

  • Proficiency with APQP and PPAP processes.

  • Ability to interpret CMM reports.

  • Effective use of structured problem-solving methodologies.

  • Cross-functional working experience with the ability to influence others.

  • Experience with X-ray analysis for casting inspection.

  • Ability to work independently.

  • Supervisory experience.

  • Excellent communication skills.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.


  • Desirable:
  • Experience with CMM/Faro arm programming (PC-DMIS/Polyworks).

  • Knowledge of Measurement System Analysis (MSA) methodology.

  • Certified ISO9001 Internal Auditor.

  • Knowledge of IATF16949.

  • Certified IATF 16949/ISO9001 Internal/Lead Auditor.

  • Training in Core Tools.
