Full Job Description

The Quality Engineer function will work closely under the direction of the Quality Manager who is responsible for quality compliance of the organisation to customer and regulatory requirements, on a wide range of quality assurance and control activities to ensure our KPIs are achieved. The successful candidate will work within the Quality department supporting the organisation key processes including NPI & Product Realisation, as well as the vision for Total Quality Management. Main Duties will include but not limited to

  • Responsible for the quality of all processed products.
  • Interface with internal and external customers & suppliers on quality issues.
  • Disposition of non-conforming products, First Articles, reworking routings & customer quality notifications.
  • Submission of article concessions, First Article Inspection Reports and Non conformance reports.
  • Configuration management including change management.
  • Generation of QMS procedures, work instructions & inspection plans supporting NPI & Product Realisation processes.
  • Lead / Support RCCA workshops to implement robust corrective & preventive actions to support.
  • Generation & monitoring of FMEA, Controls Plans and monitored data.
  • Review customer and regulatory standards / specifications for QMS compliance.
  • Management of the calibration system.
  • Support quality improvement programs to reduce scrap, rework and non-value add costs.
  • Data capture, analysis, and action generation to bring about improvements based upon factual data.
  • Conduct internal product & process audits to internal audit program requirements.
  • Support periodic business quality reviews.
  • Support regulatory & customer compliance audits.
  • Provide training on quality assurance, control and supply chain requirements., This exciting role would involve you supporting with the management of one of our Key Accounts. You will be responsible for carrying contract reviews with this customer, responding to Request for Quotations and providing progress reports. You'll use your expertise to drive continuous improvement activity and ensure that we achieve 100% delivery schedule adherence.
  • Naturally, you will work in partnership with the Key Project Management team to grow the account in line with our business strategy and manage the order book. You'll be a customer focused individual with strong communication skills., The Quality Assistant role is aimed towards an individual who is driven and determined to grow within the Hyde Coatings Quality Department. , As the company will provide thorough training and development opportunities, this individual should progress to higher Quality Assurance related roles and therefore prior experience within Quality related roles is desirable but not essential. The role is advertised to coincide alongside a training and development plan which will result in the individual progressing towards a Quality Engineers position as a minimum, with growth to further positioned roles also available (and sought after). Further duties are detailed below:
  • Seek out and drive continuous improvements that will reduce non-conformances
  • Identify and resolve issues within your control and contribute to wider improvement activities.
  • Proactively identify and resolve quality issues using problem solving techniques, whether in relation to process or product failures.
  • To ensure if a customer has a concern relating to a product (i.e., nonconforming product) that the issue is fully investigated, corrective action is taken to contain the issue and stop any future issues, whilst working alongside other Hyde Business Units.
  • Ensure all communication is given in a timely and professional manner; especially with respect to customer queries or internal Divisional discussions.
  • To update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; understanding customer specifications, the Hyde Quality Management System, and learning/developing further knowledge within other key aspects of the internal and Divisional Quality department.
  • Partake in internal audits with the Quality Manager/Quality Engineer in line with the Businesses Core Procedures, and assist the Senior Quality Engineers during external/customer audits.
  • Due to the sub contract nature of our business, a flexible hands-on approach to your responsibilities is required.
  • Manage customer standards and specifications, ensuring communication is shared with the wider Division within a timely manner.
  • Produce, manage and distribute a suite of KPIs alongside the Quality Department to drive continual improvement.
  • To learn and develop an understanding of a Quality Management System, with a view to assisting the Quality Department in standardising our approach to procedural development., As a CNC Milling Operator you will be responsible for operating CNC Milling machines plus a wide range of tasks within our manufacturing facility in Stockport., Are you looking for a new and exciting challenge, with a forward-thinking organisation within an advanced engineering sector? As a Masking operator you will be responsible for the processing of various aerospace components through the masking section in preparation for treatments such as Anodise, Vac Blast and Paint operations to customer drawing requirements. All whilst maintaining the general cleanliness and safety within the building and supporting other areas of the business when required.
  • Duties include but are not limited to;
  • Using various masking tools and media to protect parts
  • Understanding of various aerospace drawings
  • Working to specification requirements
  • Paperwork
  • Working closely with the inspection department regarding opportunities for improvement
  • Working closely with the production team to meet deadlines and reforecasting

    Proven track record as a Quality Engineer in either aerospace, nuclear or similarly regulated sector.
  • Strong analytical and diagnostic skills with the ability to solve problems using tools such as FMEA, 8D, SPC, 5Y & Ishikawa.
  • AS9100 / ISO9001 Lead or Internal certified auditor.
  • Engineering Drawing / CAD Model Interpretation.
  • IT Literate - Microsoft Office Software.
  • Strong written and verbal communications.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced, dynamic environment with constantly changing priorities.
  • Self-Motivated and positive mindset to make continual improvement personally and for the organisation., Proven Quality professional with working experience in a Quality Engineering function.
  • Knowledgeable in AS9100 QMS requirements.
  • AS9102 FAI experience is desirable.
  • ISO14001 experience is desirable.
  • NADCAP AC7108 / AC7114 experience.
  • Auditing experience is desirable., Strong IT skills (Microsoft word and excel).
  • Have a good understanding of purchasing and procurement.
  • Engineering/Manufacturing background or hold a degree in an engineering discipline.

  • It would be great if you had SAP experience but we will provide you with full training.
  • Ability to read engineering drawings.
  • An understanding of Engineering Processes, precision machining and surface treatment disciplines.
  • Formal Project Management Qualification would be advantageous; however, we would look to book you onto a course if you don't already hold this., Excellent communications skills are imperative.
  • IT literate, in the Microsoft Suite of Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
  • Must have good team working ethic, be highly pro-active and motivated.
  • A high level of attention to detail.

  • Are time-served apprentices or have vocational qualifications., As a CNC Miller you will have experience of operating a range of CNC Milling machines. It is essential that you are able to set and operate CNC Milling Machines that operate Siemens controls. Previous experience of working on Multi Pallet machines would be of benefit.
  • Ideally you will also have experience of machining soft metals, primarily Aluminium and stainless steel. Experience of working in the Scientific industry manufacturing precision parts would be of benefit. Naturally you will be a time served apprentice with a recognized qualification such as BTEC/City and Guilds.,
