Full Job Description

As our Quality Inspector you will oversee the inspection of parts, assemblies and subassemblies to drawings and prints. Initiate non-conformance reports on all parts and assemblies that are not to drawing and print specifications. You will ensure that manufactured units meet quality control procedures, engineering specifications and customer requirements. Initiate corrective action requests for all non-conforming parts. Complete inspections and distribute all quality records and documents relating to Inspection. Take ownership of Site calibration process and carry out internal Calibration of equipment. As our Quality Inspector you will also be responsible for:

  • Inspection and measurements of machined mechanical components or assemblies to drawing, standards and relevant documentation
  • Visual inspection of printed circuit board assemblies to IPC-A-610.
  • Manage incoming products and ERP booking in process to ensure consistent quality and manufacture supply.
  • Accurately conduct measuring tasks and record results
  • Raise Engineering Change Requests (ECRs) and Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) on behalf of manufacturing and self as applicable
  • Close Engineering Change Notes (ECNs) and NCRs where applicable
  • Ensure good quarantine and non conforming disciplines are maintained.
  • Liaise with and assist the Supplier Quality Engineer (SQE) and / or suppliers on quality related issues found within goods receiving.
  • Proactively work to Lead and/or assist in the solution of non conformance issues found in Goods inward.
  • Ownership of site Calibration process - Liaising with external calibration house to ensure all site equipment is maintained., We recognise that everyone is different and that the way in which people want to work and deliver at their best is different for everyone too.     HND/OND with experience in an Electronic/Mechanical manufacturing environment
  • Sound Technical knowledge of precision components and extensive experience in the use of all basic Metrology equipment such as - Micrometers, bore gauges, profile projector, surface finish machine, calipers, height gauges and hardness testing.
  • Ability to measure close tolerance components to a high degree of accuracy and repeatability.
  • Ability to carry out trigonometry, math's and engineering calculations.
  • Skilled in reading & understanding electronic wiring & assembly drawings & instructions
  • Strong data collection and analytical skills together with an understanding of Quality improvement methodologies such as LEAN, Six Sigma, 5 Why's etc.
  • Familiar with working in an ISO9001:2015 environment
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
