Full Job Description

  • First Article Inspections: Conducting detailed mechanical inspections of aerospace components and sub-assemblies to AS9102 standards.
  • Inspection Reporting: Completing and recording First Article Inspection Reports on the MRP system.
  • File Management: Developing and maintaining electronic filing systems.
  • Equipment Calibration: Managing and controlling the calibration of inspection equipment.
  • Continuous Improvement: Supporting business processes and personnel in continuous improvement activities and providing quality performance insights.
  • Supplier Liaison: Resolving issues with suppliers to enhance customer confidence and satisfaction.
  • New Product Introduction: Supporting quality planning and implementation during the introduction of new products, collaborating with internal teams and suppliers.
  • Quality Data Analysis: Capturing and analyzing quality data, taking action against any deviations from standards.

    This role requires specialized skills gained through a blend of vocational training and significant on-the-job experience, often at a master level within skilled trades. A trade certification is typically necessary at this job level., Industry Background: Strong experience in quality and/or aerospace within medium to high-volume manufacturing.
  • Technical Proficiency: Skilled in using a coordinate measuring machine (CMM), handheld measuring tools (Verniers, Height Gauge, Micrometers) and interpreting engineering drawings, including geometrical tolerances.
  • Continuous Improvement: Familiarity with Continuous Improvement and 5S methodologies.
  • Engineering Literacy: Ability to read, understand, and interpret engineering information.
  • Communication Skills: Effective communicator at all levels, both verbal and written.
  • Teamwork & Initiative: Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
  • IT Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access).
