Full Job Description
This is an exciting time within the Division of Integrated Care as we continue to change and adapt to the needs of our patients and staff. An opportunity has arisen within our senior nursing team for a Quality Lead Nurse. The areas within our Emergency Village directorate include the Emergency Department, PANDA unit (Paediatric ED and short stay observation and assessment unit), Emergency Assessment Unit (EAU), Medical High Care unit, Respiratory Ward and Same Day Emergency Care (SDEC). Whilst this Quality Lead Nurse role will at times oversee all of the above areas, the particular areas of focus for the successful candidate will be the Emergency Department (both Adult and Paediatric ED) and the SDEC unit. We are seeking an experienced leader who will play a pivotal role in supporting the delivery of high quality, patient care that delivers against identified National and local targets whilst continually improving the patients journey and having a positive impact on care delivery., The role of the Quality Lead Nurse will focus on six main areas within both their own directorate and across the organisation:
- Providing a clean environment.
- Ensuring best practice in infection control.
- Improving clinical care standards.
- Treating patients with dignity and respect.
- Providing clinical areas with senior nurse leadership during both regular and unsocial hours.
- Ensuring all quality improvement work is implemented and sustained. The Quality Lead Nurse will provide support and guidance to the wards and departments, ensuring that they work closely with the ward and department Managers. There will be a focus on supporting wards and departments to reach and maintain the required standards within the NCA Nursing and Accreditation Systems.
