Full Job Description

Reporting to the Head of Operations, the Quality Manager will lead a team of Quality Engineers to both support production by providing sufficient quality resource to deliver end of line and appropriate through process inspection and also develop and implement quality standard processes and maintain the Quality Management System (QMS),

  • Lead the preparation and execution for all audits and inspections necessary to maintain the company's Quality accreditations (ISO9001 etc)

  • Create and execute inspection plans from design data for purchased and in house manufactured parts, materials and equipment.

  • Delivery of all auditory actions to ensure the maintenance of Quality Certification e.g. ISO9001 / AS9100, which may also include specific product/regulatory approvals

  • Inspecting and testing of materials, equipment, processes, and products to ensure quality specifications are met.

  • Capture and maintain the data base of all Non-Conformance Reports (NCR) and in each case to follow a clear protocol to implement rapid containment and facilitate root cause and corrective actions (RCCA) in conjunction with Engineering and Operations

  • Resolving quality problems in conjunction with other functions by collaboration and sharing best practice.

  • Collaborating with Operations to develop and implement production quality controls and improvements.

  • Developing RCCA, containment and corrective actions, long term solutions, and continuous improvements within the quality and production environment.

  • Providing Quality KPIs and metrics to the business and relevant projects.

  • Producing, reviewing, and managing Quality Plans

  • Promoting and championing a philosophy of Right First Time by sharing experience of previous organisations and introducing highly visible campaigns.

  • Provide Quality support to suppliers as requested by the Supply Chain Operations team.

  • Prepare and support internal and external QA reviews with internal departments and external suppliers.

  • Manage, coach and develop a team of QE/QC engineers

  • Perform other duties as required.


  • Health and Safety
  • Demonstrating in daily activities a commitment to health and safety in the workplace by always ensuring tasks are performed in the safest possible manner.

  • Reporting all hazards and incidents that the individual is party to, or observes, in the correct manner.

  • When required or directed, participating in any health and safety training.

    You should be an experienced Quality Manager, ideally from an aerospace background and with relevant ISO9001/AS9100 qualification /certification, with a passion and enthusiasm for aviation, quality, and customer satisfaction and a desire to make a difference within a rapidly growing company., Evidence of leading others in a fast-moving AS9100-certified environment.

  • Working with multiple stakeholders to maintain a Quality Management System (QMS)

  • Management of Non-Conformance

  • Highly experienced in leading and coaching 4D/8D, 5W2H or similar RCCA activity

  • Creating inspection plans and other quality control systems.

  • Able to build and deliver a strategy of supplier quality improvement.

  • Management of metrology by researching and selecting appropriate equipment and management of calibration.

  • Working in an environment where safety and quality are the main priorities.


  • Desirable
  • In depth experience of working in a management position within a production or development sector of the aerospace industry.

  • Thorough understanding of manufacturing and assembly of electro-mechanical devices, particularly in an aerospace environment.

  • Can implement PPAP, APQP or similar methodologies

  • Leading quality and continuous improvement projects, Must be a British Citizen or must have an existing right to work in the UK and have been a UK resident for 5 years.

  • Ability to hold UK security clearance.

  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills.

  • Team player but with the ability to lead and work under own initiative

  • Attention to detail

  • MS Office proficient
