Full Job Description

The overall purpose of this post is to strengthen and develop the College's academic standards, policies and procedures. You will develop and maintain a framework of continuous quality improvement to positively impact achievement rates, retention, destinations and other stakeholder needs. Reporting to the Assistant Principal for Quality and will be responsible for the quality assurance of the curriculum, including curriculum area deep dives and you will coordinate student voice to inspire improvements through college surveys, student focus groups and conferences., Manage and maintain the quality of education across the College

Manage the activities of a successful and effective quality team and ensure compliance with the annual quality cycle and monitor key College performance indicators

Lead and manage review and development of the College's academic policies and procedures and keep abreast of further educational initiatives and developments

Monitor the quality of teaching and learning through lesson observation process and drive continuous improvements and maintain accurate records and tracking of teacher observation strengths and areas for development and professional development requirements by area

Lead and manage organisation of cross college staff CPD events in conjunction with Teaching, Learning and Assessment Leads

Foster a culture of continued improvement and quality assurance through Curriculum Area Review (CAR) process including monitoring and tracking of quality indicators

Manage curriculum self-assessment and improvement action plan processes and drive timely completion in all areas

Assist and support Deputy Principal and Assistant Principal Quality in the compilation of the College SAR and QIP and support the college in preparation for inspections and external quality reviews

Manage the College's compliments and complaints procedure and support with monitoring and tracking of student disciplinary process

Manage the College's compliments and complaints procedure, allocation of investigating officers and ensuring timely completion, analysis of data and sharing of complaint outcomes and recommendations

Work with AP Student Experience to manage student disciplinary process supporting allocation of investigating officers, completion of timely reports, monitoring and tracking of student incidents and outcomes to inform quality improvements

Lead and manage all external quality activity and use these to support improvements

Act as a key contact for communication and liaison with curriculum areas and external agencies including awarding organisations

Keep an up-to-date qualification register of all qualifications and key internal and external contacts

Lead on curriculum area preparation for and attend quality assurance meetings and visits where needed

Lead on planning, assessment and feedback ensuring it is robust, timely and meets awarding organisation requirements

Lead on key activity within internal verification cycle and monitor compliance against actions and areas for improvement in EQA reports

Champion the use of student voice to inspire continuous improvements in student experience

Produce and contribute to cross-college surveys delivered by the college through survey platforms

Drive student voice through curriculum working and carry out meetings with students to collect feedback to improve quality of education

Liaise and work with other departments to foster a culture of Student Voice and deliver successful student conferences

Analyse data and produce reports using excel and other MS office products

Degree

Teaching qualification

Level 2 in English, Maths and ICT

Experience of delivering high quality teaching, learning and assessment with high student outcomes

Experience of supporting quality improvement processes

Knowledge and experience of using and managing data to support quality improvement

Knowledge and understanding of pedagogy and digital innovation

Commitment to keeping up-to-date with educational developments affecting the work of the College

Energy, enthusiasm and the ability to motivate and work collaboratively

Possess excellent verbal and non-verbal communication skills to inspire and motivate change with the ability to also challenge robustly

Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team and be flexible

Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet stated objectives within tight deadlines

Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail

Experience of working with sensitive data and maintaining confidentiality

Excellent computer skills and experience of using information systems and databases

£38,088 to £41,802 (will pay up to the equivalent of SP9 for internal applicants only)
