Full Job Description

We're looking for a Quality and Risk Manager to join our London Head Office Colliers Wood (SW19 2JD).

As the Quality and Risk Manager, you'll play a leading role in improving quality across all dialysis units and maintaining ISO accreditation. You will be required to lead in developing and managing the strategy for risk including interpreting data and making appropriate recommendations while co-ordinate and develop governance activities of DaVita UK and be instrumental in creating a culture of continuous quality improvement. This will be a standalone role and report directly to the Director of Operations and Clinical.

In this role you can expect to carry out below key responsibilities but not limited to:
1. Quality Improvement

  • Lead accreditation cycles and processes including ISO

  • Develop appropriate systems and processes to assess the standards of quality across all areas of activity including clinics and HQ and highlight areas for improvement and make recommendations and agree ongoing targets for these improvements;

  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of quality improvement programs

  • Carry out an ongoing review of customer feedback through monitoring of satisfaction questionnaires and regular visits to the renal units to see patients and ensure that all matters arising are followed up and actioned

  • Undertake such quality improvement projects as may be required.


  • 2. Risk Management

  • Implement the risk management framework, with the support of the International Head of Risk

  • Identification of relevant risks through regular sessions with the senior management team, incident analysis, and analysis of external relevant factors/incidents that might be relevant for DaVita UK

  • Manage and coordinate reporting and investigation of incidents, identifying and reporting incident trends, and highlighting the mitigating actions to be followed

  • Ensuring that the control framework for each function is adequate and up to date

  • Ensuring that policies and procedures are up to date, adequate to the risk profile and strategic objectives of DaVita UK and in line with risk appetite

  • Ensure that policies and procedures are followed by their relevant stakeholders through assurance testing exercises, in collaboration with the relevant functional leader

  • Process incident data, interpret it and make recommendations based on this data

  • Support the functional leaders in the incident investigation process and make risk-based recommendation to address the investigation outcomes

  • Produce different reports, including incident reports or risk monitoring reports, and make recommendations on required action;

  • Champion and raise awareness of the benefits of effective risk governance and promote the understanding of relevant issues

  • Conduct risk assessments, in collaboration with the functional leaders, and provide recommendations based on the assessment outcomes

  • Ensuring that the action plans developed as a result of risk assessments, projects, or investigations are followed up and actioned within the agreed timeline

  • Organise risk management committees meetings, preparing the agenda, collecting the relevant information from the relevant functional leaders, and providing recommendations and follow up matters arising;

  • Monitor external developments in risk and regulation and make appropriate recommendations to improve the DaVita UK governance

  • Provide guidance, advice and support in the implementation of projects (including quality improvement projects).


  • 3. Compliance:

  • Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and standards. Including Health and safety, healthcare regulations

  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry standards and regulatory requirements.


  • 4. Other Duties

  • Provide training and support to staff on quality and risk management practices.

  • Act as a key point of contact for quality and risk management issues

  • Prepare and present reports on quality and risk management activities to senior management.

  • Maintain accurate records and documentation

  • Maintain appropriate links with other organisations to ensure that DaVita UK continues to benchmark against external bodies and maintains its leading position on quality and risk issues;

  • Establish and maintain appropriate correspondence and filing systems for all patient feedback/correspondence and clinical governance correspondence;

  • Adhere to company policies and procedures;

  • Respect the confidentiality of all matters that they may learn relating to their

  • Maintain and expand own professional and personal knowledge and skills

    Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., healthcare, business administration, risk management).

  • Experience in healthcare settings.

  • CQC registered manager preferred.

  • Certifications in quality management or risk management preferred

  • Experience in quality improvement and risk management roles.

  • Experience in developing and implementing quality and risk management frameworks.

  • Experience of policy ratification and document review;
