Full Job Description
This role is critical in supporting the Trust's commitment to providing high-quality, safe, and effective ultrasound services. The successful candidate will play an integral role in delivering patient-centered care, ensuring quality standards are met, and leading safety initiatives within the ultrasound department.
As a Quality and Safety Sonographer, you will be responsible for conducting high-quality ultrasound examinations, supporting quality assurance programs, and working with multidisciplinary teams to ensure compliance with national safety and quality guidelines. This position offers an exciting opportunity for an experienced sonographer to make a meaningful impact on patient care standards and the continuous improvement of our services.
It is anticipated the post holder will work 50% clinically and 50% non clinically. Minimum of 30 hours working per week (0.8WTE)., + Clinical Excellence: Perform high-quality ultrasound scans across a range of specialties, ensuring accurate imaging and diagnostic interpretation.
+ Quality Assurance: Lead quality control and quality assurance processes within the department, conducting audits and identifying areas for improvement.
+ Safety Leadership: Promote a culture of safety within the ultrasound team by adhering to and promoting NHS safety protocols, guidelines, and best practices.
+ Patient-Centered Care: Deliver compassionate care to patients, ensuring a positive and comfortable experience during examinations.
+ Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively with radiologists, clinicians, and other healthcare professionals to ensure effective patient care.
+ Continuous Improvement: Participate in training and professional development activities to stay updated with the latest in sonography techniques and standards., + To provide a highly specialised clinical service using ultrasound equipment to image and provide accurate diagnosis
+ To perform and independently report on all ultrasound procedures.
+ A full range of ultrasound examinations is undertaken. Predominantly obstetric scanning as well as a Gynae examinations
+ To diagnose pregnancy failure, fetal abnormalities, complications and stillbirth
+ To ensure skills are up-to-date and relevant to the role, to follow relevant Trust policies and professional codes and to maintain registration for required role.
+ To collaborate with the Q and S Radiographer leads for Imaging and provide detailed reports and investigations to reported incidents
