We have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Rail Quantity Surveyor to join our CRSA Plain Line Track Renewal team in Aston, Birmingham on a full time, 37.5hr per week basis. The role offers hybrid working and flexible working requests are also available.

CRSA is an Alliance between Balfour Beatty Rail, Network Rail, Atkins Realis and TSO to undertake Rail works across the country to improve passenger journeys.

Our Central Rail Systems Alliance offers the unique opportunity to work with partner organisations across the rail industry. CRSA has been created to make a positive impact on the UK track renewals industry by drawing on the strengths of all alliance partners and collaborative working.

Bringing together knowledge and experience in critical rail infrastructure and track renewals, the alliance deploys innovative working methods to realise efficiencies and create a more reliable railway infrastructure.

What you'll be doing

The successful candidate will:

  • Identify commercial risks and opportunities in respect of their works;

  • Maintain team commercial dashboard to allow delivery team to understand their commercial position;

  • Attend weekly meetings including wash-up and commercial review meetings;

  • Oversee all aspects of subcontract management including payments;

  • Identify and assist in the pricing and submission of change;

  • Assist with client monthly valuation;

  • Assist with Cost Value Reconciliation;

  • Monitor large plant and labour expenditure using Registers;

  • Assist with commercial relationships to both internal and external stakeholders;

  • Provide support and adherence for the Gated Business Lifecycle process.

    The successful candidate will have the following skills/qualities:

  • Holds a BSc or MSc in Quantity Surveying or equivalent experience;

  • An organised, innovative and creative Quantity Surveyor with experience of working on Rail Projects;

  • Previous experience of managing costs and maximising value;

  • Experience of financial and commercial control within a project;

  • Experience of working as part of commercial teams;

  • Supports the development of others;

  • Experience of infrastructure projects with resilience and determination to succeed.
