Full Job Description
Within this role, you will play a pivotal part in the success of our Network Expansion team by means of undertaking the contract and cost administration required on all infill projects. You'll also play a key role in providing cost management support on contracts across multiple Virgin Media O2 business units. As our environment continues to evolve, you will support the growth of the team by means of creating and maintaining cost reports for each project/workstream with regularly updated written narrative providing precise explanations for forecast cost position vs. budget, outstanding variations, 'Work-In-Progress' (WIP) and premise number changes. As a Quantity Surveyor, you can expect to take the lead in managing a number of regional projects on a daily basis, including regular visits to sites and/or partner offices. You'll be tasked with ensuring all projects have gone through the Early Contractor Involvement process and assessing and validating payment applications, early warnings, compensation events, and final accounts. Due diligence is also key, ensuring audits on previously approved payments/variations/final accounts are carried out and site visits are conducted to validate the measures being taken by build engineers are accurate.
In order to be considered, you must have the following experience:
- Strong skills with Microsoft excel or similar data manipulation
- High level of numeracy skills
- Understanding and experience of commercial estimating and benchmarking, gained within the Telecoms, Utility or Construction sectors
- Ability to accurately measure quantities from drawings
- Full UK diving licence required
- Willingness to travel across the North West and the Midlands The other stuff we are looking for We'd also love you to bring:
- NEC4/JCT contract experience
- Experience of CEMAR system
- Knowledge/experience of contractor payments
- Knowledge/experience with Morpheus work streams/contracts
- Ability to work as part of a team, but also under own initiative
- Ideally degree qualified
