Full Job Description

We are currently recruiting for the post of Quantity Surveyor to join our TFL division based in London. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the planning, execution, and delivery of civil engineering projects, ensuring they meet our high standards of quality, are delivered on time, and within budget. This role requires someone with a strong background in civil engineering, as well as experience in managing projects in highly regulated environments. As a Quantity Surveyor you will be:

  • Lead and manage complex civil engineering projects from initiation through to completion.
  • Develop detailed project plans, including scope, schedule, budget, and resource allocation.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory and contractual requirements, particularly those specific to Defence and Strategic sectors.
  • Coordinate and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including engineers, architects, and contractors.
  • Identify and mitigate risks to ensure project objectives are achieved.
  • Maintain strong relationships with clients, stakeholders, and partners, ensuring effective communication throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Oversee procurement processes and manage contracts with suppliers and subcontractors.
  • Monitor project progress, prepare reports, and present updates to senior management and stakeholders.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance project delivery and efficiency.

    Excellent NEC knowledge
  • Good communication and written skills
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience
  • Strong understanding of construction and contract law.
  • Day to commercial administration of the framework
  • Preparing and issuing sub-contract orders
  • Agreeing payment schedule with sub-contractors
  • Managing Commercial change control for individual jobs delivered on the framework
  • Prepare monthly application to the client
  • Pricing individual jobs from the contract schedule of rates
  • Excellent negotiation skills and the ability to manage multiple stakeholder engagements

  • Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor.
  • Bachelors Degree in Quantity Surveying
  • Detail orientated and deeply organised
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
