Full Job Description
The R&D Scientist is responsible for executing research projects within the Magnetic Beads Research team, including experimental design, data analysis, and data interpretation. The scientist will work with cross-disciplinary teams throughout the product development lifecycle. This position reports to the Team Leader of Magnetic Beads Research and is part of the Diagnostics & Genomics research and development team located in Cardiff, UK and will be an on-site role. - Design and execute experiments primarily for magnetic bead research, including experiments for concept design, program execution, product characterization and product analysis for use in customer assay applications.
- Provide laboratory support for the transition of projects from research to development, manufacture, and product launch, as well as post launch activities such as customer issues and support.
- Analyze experimental data, interpret results, draw conclusions to guide future experiments, and maintain detailed experimental records in a laboratory notebook.
- Work with the cross-disciplinary teams to deliver quality outcomes on time and within budget.
- Collaborate to develop new research ideas and opportunities
Are you ready to accelerate your potential and make a real difference within life sciences, diagnostics and biotechnology?, BSc or higher degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Materials Science, or a related field. - Experience in magnetic bead research, including synthesis, characterization, and application development.
- Detail-oriented, self-starter with the ability to multitask, work collaboratively and succeed in a team environment
- Proven interpersonal, documentation and communication skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and creatively. It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:
- Experience in product development and commercialization of magnetic bead-based technologies.
