An exciting opportunity to join Southend on Sea City Council on a permanent and part time basis ( 0.6 FTE - 3 days per week) as the Governance Services Lead Officer (Southend on Sea Governance Service).
We are looking for someone that will be able to lead on the design, development, management, and delivery of Governor Services for Southend, working with a wide range of stakeholders including school leaders, governors and governance professionals/clerks. The successful candidate will be the lead for the service to deliver and manage the activities of the Governance Service, to meet statutory and service requirements. The role will provide effective strategic and day to day leadership, to enable the outcomes to be met. There is a commissioning role, as well as hands on delivery to support professional development of governance across the City.
The successful candidate will be based at the Civic Centre (at least 2 days per week), agile work including schools across Southend with a willingness to travel privately or by public transport or work from home (as agreed). What you'll need to succeed:
The successful candidate will be proven to work flexibly with key stakeholders, including professionals and schools. Proven leadership and management skills and experience are to be demonstrated. You will be enthusiastic and self-motivated with the ability to engage with key stakeholders to ensure outcomes for governance are met.
