Full Job Description

  • Working closely with the Radar Technical Authority and stakeholders to deliver the safety requirements of the Typhoon Radar
  • Manage and discharge the Safety and Complex Electronic Hardware workload, including line management responsibility of 4 professionals
  • Supporting the resolution of Safety related issues
  • Reviewing Safety assessments and evidence in flight clearance documentation
  • Assessing supplier deviations related to safety
  • Generating Safety arguments to maintain the safety of the aircraft as well as generating in-service risk assessments and in-service instructions

    A degree in a STEM subject or equivalent relevant experience
  • Safety engineering experience (HAZOP, Fault Tree Analysis, safety cases)
  • Chartered Engineer (or working towards)
  • The ability to form and lead cross-functional and cross organisational teams
  • Desirable:
  • Airborne Radar experience
  • Knowledge of Typhoon platform

    This is an exciting role for a Safety Engineer working within the E-Scan Radar Equipment Design Responsibility (EDR) team on Eurofighter Typhoon in support of the Safety development effort on the E-Scan Radar program. The role sits within the EDR team based at Warton working closely with the Radar Equipment Supplier (EuroRadar, Leonardo-UK, Hensoldt, Leonardo-IT and Indra), Eurofighter GmbH and other System Design Responsibility (SDR) engineering disciplines in delivering the various E-Scan Radar programs to time, cost and without compromise to safety or quality.
