Full Job Description

As a Radio Communication Station Manager, you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary. You will be managing the station with respect to the secure Local Area Network/Wide Area Network and Business Software systems. This will include planning, developing, installing, configuring, and maintaining all network hardware, software, and communication links for the station.

Day-to-day, you will be expected to fulfil the following responsibilities:

  • Accountable for delivering engineering of communication engineering systems and/or supporting sub-systems to achieve overall mission system intent.

  • The management, maintenance, upgrade, and fault finding on essential IT Operational systems, networks and peripheral equipment including software.

  • Any patching of hardware/software including anti-virus and software updates, as well as installation and troubleshooting of multiple windows platforms

  • Management of the Systems Integrated Lab (SIL)

  • To form part of the Configuration Control Board to manage the installation of new hardware and software to the network whilst being responsible for the management of Local Area Network/Wide Area Network performance and maintaining all system build documentation.


  • This role is full time, 37.5 hours per week and provides hybrid working arrangements with 3 days in the office/onsite and 2 days working from home.

    Essential Experience of the Radio Communication Station Manager
  • Proven work experience in IT

  • In depth knowledge of Microsoft and Cisco hardware and software

  • Comprehensive experience in a network management role

  • Good knowledge and experience in the configuration and control of Cisco routers and switches

  • Possess a Full UK Driving Licence


  • Qualifications for the Radio Communication Station Manager
  • HNC/HND with equivalent, relevant experience is valued and welcomed


  • Security Clearance
    The successful candidate must be a sole UK national who is able to achieve and maintain Developed Vetting (DV) security clearance for this role.
