Full Job Description

The successful applicants will rotate across all our sites and through all aspects of radiography including: adult and paediatric plain film radiography, theatre, mobiles, digital fluoroscopy and CT. Training will be given in CT and i.v. cannulation if required. Radiographers are actively encouraged to take part in clinical governance, audit, training and clinical professional development. We provide opportunities to develop in all areas of radiography and currently have radiographers reporting in a number of specialties. Participationin the shift rota which provides 24/7 cover is essential. The shift rota includes a combination of 7.5-hour days, long days and nights and includes some weekend shifts as well as an on-call commitment.

We are a family friendly department looking for radiographers with a minimum of 2 years post qualification experience to join the Radiology team at Mersey and West Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust, St Helens and Knowsley sites. We are looking for highly motivated, enthusiastic and dedicated individuals with a flexible approach to working who are able to demonstrate good organisational and communication skills along with a commitment to a quality patient focused service.

Our inpatient unit at Newton Community Hospital is where patients needing acute hospital beds can continue rehabilitation, freeing up space for more unwell patients. We also provide urgent care at our Urgent Treatment Centre located in St Helens town centre. Specialist Regional Services We provide the Mersey Regional Burns & Plastic Surgery Unit at Whiston Hospital and the Spinal Injuries Unit at Southport Hospital to more than 4 million people across the whole of Merseyside, West Lancashire, Cheshire, Isle of Man and North Wales.
