Are you looking to progress your career or develop new skills in an exciting and rewarding multidisciplinary setting? We are keen to recruit radiographers to join our established and supportive team in the Cardiac Catheter Labs and Interventional Radiology Departments.
You will be given the opportunity to rotate through the Catheter labs and Interventional Radiology, broadening your skill set and bringing you to the forefront of delivering first class care in these specialty departments.
Previous experience in these areas is desirable, but it is by no means essential. We will actively support development and training for radiographers who have a desire to work in these specialty areas but may not yet have the necessary skills. Under these circumstances Annex 21 of Agenda for Change will apply.
For radiographers with existing competencies, we will offer you an opportunity to work in a first class centre with a supportive management team.

Main duties of the job
The post holder will work on a rotation, undertaking radiographic duties in the Heart and Lung Centre and the Interventional Radiology Departments.
The post holder will work flexibly to provide these services including working on the on call and late rota and on weekends and Bank Holidays.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
To work on a rotation, undertaking radiographic duties in the Heart and Lung Centre and the Interventional Radiology department as delegated by the Team Leader.
To work flexibly to provide these services including at weekends, evenings and Bank Holidays and as part of an on call rota.
To ensure that you have sufficient equipment training to enable dose optimisation so that high quality diagnostic images are produced with the lowest possible dose to the patient.
To ensure that you use all equipment safely and in accordance with operating/manufacturer instructions and that you and all staff using equipment are competent and trained to do so.
To undertake training on the Patient Management System (PMS), the Radiology Information System (RIS) and the Picture Archiving and Communications System (PACS) to ensure that patient information is stored and retrieved accurately.
To participate in the vetting of appropriate referrals in line with radiology authorisation guidelines.
The post holder may be required to administer I.V injections of contrast media to patients.
To work in a multi-disciplinary team and to encourage team development and facilitate the professional development of other personnel - this may include nurses, HCA's, students, apprentices and other trainees.
To participate in practical and theoretical training for Student Radiographers, Assistant Practitioners and Radiographer Helpers and to complete any paperwork or assessments associated with this training.
To ensure a clean, tidy and safe working environment, adhering to the cleaning SOPs in place for each clinical area.
To promptly report any equipment failures to the Department Superintendent or the Ergea Helpdesk as appropriate.
To report accidents / untoward incidents / hazards to the Superintendent Radiographer as soon as possible, ensuring completion of the Incident Report Form and accident book.
To undertake any reasonable duty that may arise which will assist the smooth running of the Radiology Service, Qualifications - Please be advised that if the post that you are applying for requires any level of qualification (e.g. A-Levels, Degree etc) or Professional Registration (e.g. Nursing and Midwifery Council, General Medical Council etc) you will be required to provide proof as part of the pre-employment process.
