Full Job Description

We have an exciting opportunity for a Radiographer (Xray and MRI) to be based on our sites in the Sussex area. This role is accountable for performing imaging procedures which consists of MRI and Xray, referring to Senior or Lead radiologists when required. This role operates with a high degree of professionalism at all times to ensure provision of a high quality, responsive and patient-focused service. Medical Imaging Partnerships and Prime Health deliver radiology services to both the NHS and private sector. At our sites we are a small friendly team, who work closely together to run a successful service. Key responsibilities include:

  • Undertaking a wide variety MRI and Xray examinations on different systems.
  • Preparing patients for imaging procedures, explains the procedure and ensures that the patient is comfortable and properly positioned.
  • Ensuring all referrals are justified and provide advise on protocols, if required
  • Ensuring consistently high-quality images are produced.
  • Assessing images for quality and clinical significant and escalate urgent findings as necessary.
  • Administering contrast media in line with PGD guidance, SOPs & protocols.
  • Responsible for own clinical areas with regards to linen change and cleanliness.
  • Further Responsibilities
  • Maintains the highest standards of both practical work and patient care at all times, including patient privacy and dignity. Provide support and reassurance to patients and families.
  • Maintains own personal continual professional development and a professional portfolio in line with HCPC & CoR recommendations and requirements.
  • Carry out responsibilities in relation to safeguarding children and vulnerable adults, to have knowledge of supporting policies and safety and to undertake the appropriate level of training for your role.
  • Health & Safety Responsibilities
  • Comply with Health and Safety legislation and Health and Safety policies and procedures.
  • Have no personal contra-indications, e.g. pacemaker, aneurysm clips, intra-orbital foreign bodies.
  • Maintain high-standards of infection control.

    IV Cannulation skills are desirable for this role (training will be provided where required)
  • HCPC Registered
  • 2 years post qualification experience in Xray/MRI
  • BSC in Radiography or equivalent
  • Flexible approach
  • Excellent and professional communication skills
  • Able to work as part of a team as well as independently.
  • Good organisational skills.
  • Evidence of CPD

    Salary Dependent On Experience
