We are recruiting for a full-time Radiology Administrators; working hours 08:30-17:00 (including 1 hour lunch)..
The Radiology Administrator role involves:
This role will include the booking of CT/MRI/Ultrasound appointments using the Computerised Radiology Information System (CRIS)
It involves lots of contact with patients and other disciplines throughout the Trust and will also include Other hospitals, patients and GP Surgeries.
The jobs validating the Radiology Patient List (PTL) ensuring patients are book in a timely manner that adheres to DM01 guidance.
We are an extremely busy Radiology department., 1. To act as Administrator in the Radiology department.
2. Establish and maintain communication with individuals regarding timing of appointments and typing of reports, overcoming any problems in communication.
3. To ensure efficient administration of CT/MRI and ultrasound appointments and related workload. Ensure all patient demographics are entered onto the system and appointment details are entered on to the Computerised Radiology Information System (CRIS), liaising with consultant radiologists and radiographers.
4. Liaising with staff, consultants and patients at Liverpool Heart and Chest, Royal Liverpool/Broadgreen and other Trusts in respect of their appointments booked on this site.
5. Coordinate the CT lung biopsy booking process; liaise with internal cancer nurses and external Trusts; chase reports/investigations when needed.
6. Validate the Patient Tracking List (PTL) for Radiology; escalating any concerns to the Radiology Pathway Coordinator.
7. Participate in the departmental rota including, reception, appointments and report chasing etc
8. Participate in office audits as and when required., 1. To act as Administrator in the Radiology department.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
Administrative
Ø To participate in the weekly rota.
Ø To be accountable for all aspects of own work, with the ability to prioritise your workload.
Ø To undertake the booking of appointments in a timely manner
Ø To inform the Radiology Pathway Coordinator when difficulties arise with the booking of appointments i.e., patient cancellations, potential breaches.
Ø To take delegated responsibility from senior colleagues for contacting patients as required.
Ø To be flexible in your approach to your workload.
Ø To ensure that patients/callers needs are met with regard to booking systems, and/or general enquiries.
Ø To sensitively explain to patients when their appointments have been cancelled or postponed and ensure a new appointment is negotiated, as required.
Ø To deal sympathetically with distressed patients and families.
MANAGERIAL/LEADERSHIP
To support senior members of team and organisation with service planning when required
To notify the Radiology Pathway Coordinators- Radiology if there are any issues with capacity for future appointments
ORGANISATIONAL
Ø To be responsible for own time management to meet service and patient priorities.
Ø To be aware of and comply with all LHCH policies and procedures.
Ø To ensure that any change of patient details are made on PAS promptly at the point of referral or appointment confirmation.
PROFESSIONAL
Ø To be responsible for maintaining own competency to practice through maintaining skills, by actively participating in IMPACT and participate in the Trust appraisal scheme.
