Full Job Description

Radiology is a busy department providing Xray, CT, MRI, Fluoroscopy and Ultrasound services for the Emergency department, In-patients and Out-patients. We provide 24/7 diagnostic services to the hospital using high quality up-to-date equipment. Candidates will work a combination of 7.5hour (5days per week) or 9.25hour shifts (4 days per week) including regular weekend working. Main duties of the job The successful candidate will be required to carry out a variety of duties within the Radiology department to assist radiographers, nurses and radiologists during procedures as required. Working as part of a team is a necessity to ensure the day runs smoothly. They must be patient focussed and be able to advocate for the patients if/when required. They will also need to be able to deal with telephone enquiries from a variet of sources, prioritize their workload and work unsupervised when necessary. It is essential to have a good level of general education and basic understanding of IT. Good communication, interpersonal and organizational skills are also an essential requirement for this post. We have a centre for planned care in Bishop Auckland and provide care from community hospitals in Chester-le-Street, Shotley Bridge, Barnard Castle, Sedgefield and Weardale as well as over 80 other community based settings and providing care in patients' homes.
