  • The Radiology Department staff are a friendly, hard-working and highly dedicated team who work together to provide diagnostic imaging services to in-patients, out-patients, A+E, GP, Maternity & Paediatric patients.

The departments utilise CR and DR systems for all plain film imaging and have a well - established Trust wide PACS system. We have an ongoing major equipment replacement programme in partnership with GE Healthcare. Staff can be assured, therefore, that they will be working with new equipment/technology in all areas of Radiology.

We actively promote CPD and staff development and some of our RDA's have progressed onto the Apprentice Radiographer programme and are currently studying to become qualified radiographers.

Southport and Ormskirk Hospital NHS Trust has received funding to provide a Community Diagnostic Centre (CDC) at Southport and to support this we are installing a 2nd CT scanner on both the ODGH & SDGH site.

These developments will reduce waiting times for key tests and support work around delivering better outcomes for patients across both sites, while providing top quality facilities closer to home for many people in the area.
