Full Job Description

  • Help co-ordinate and participate in the specialised and general nursing activity within the Radiology Department.
  • Responsible for the assessing, planning, implementation and evaluation of evidenced based nursing care.
  • Be part of a multi-disciplinary team to ensure that patients receive the best possible care when in the Radiology department, using audit and best nursing practice to achieve this.
  • Organises and prioritises own workload and that of other nursing staff within the Radiology department, in the absence of the Lead Nurse/Senior Staff Nurse, with recognition of the need for flexibility.

An exciting opportunity has arisen to become part of our friendly, caring, professional Radiology Team based at Ysbyty Gwynedd. Training will be given to successful applicants to ensure that an excellent knowledge of Interventional and non-Interventional procedures are maintained. The key aspects and qualities of a Radiology Nurse is a caring, supportive and motivated and an advocate for the patient, while ensuring safety and respecting the hospital values and have the desire to work within a dynamic and inspiring team. Radiology nurses work within a multi -disciplinary team of Consultant Radiologist, Radiographers and Assistants ensuring they deliver a safe, effective and efficient care to all patients that attend the Radiology department. Your role will include working within the Interventional Radiology suite, CT, Imaging and Mammography, Nuclear Medicine and MRI. This provides a diverse and engaging environment to work with all patients and staff within these modalities.

    The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
