Full Job Description

To work as part of the Radiology Systems Team providing day to day systems support and maintaining the quality of highly complex data held within the systems., General
1. Provide high quality administration support to the Radiology Systems Service and Team.
2. Use the Image Exchange Portal (IEP) for transfer of images both to and from ELHT.
3. To upload CDs with DICOM imaging onto PACS.
4. To ensure all required imaging for MDT meetings is made available to internal and external clinical teams in a timely manner.
5. To create user accounts on PACS / RIS assigning role-based level access.
6. To assist users with all account queries, resetting passwords and assigning the relevant level of access as appropriate.
7. To ensure the data held within Radiology Systems is accurate and up to date. This includes but not limited to updating EPR records, merging duplicate records on CRIS and amending data on PACS.
8. To monitor the Trust's Ordercomms system for any orders that may have errored and resolve issues.
9. Ensure Data Protection and Information Governance Policies are adhered to and to give advice as required.
10. Assist in the training of users on the PACS and RIS system.
11. With the support of the Systems Team, independently problem solve and resolve issues alerting the relevant staff members as appropriate.
12. Respond to situations as they arise, including unplanned downtime.
13. To provide statistical reports on a daily and ad-hoc basis
14. Undertake any other ad-hoc duties delegated appropriate to the grade.

COMMUNICATION
1. Establish good relationships and communications with a wide range of internal departments and external organisations.
2. Create and maintain effective working relationships with staff at all levels, internally and externally, acting to support the principles of equality and diversity.
3. Receive and triage all queries received by the systems team, and where possible provide help. In cases where the request is beyond the knowledge of the post holder, they will refer the matter onto a more senior member of the systems team.
4. When required, the post holder will liaise with system suppliers and report system faults.

  • GCSE English/Maths or equivalent

  • ECDL or equivalent experience

  • NVQ level 3 or equivalent experience, Essential criteria


  • Experience of accurate data entry onto electronic and paper systems.

  • Experience of accessing the internet/email systems


  • Desirable criteria

  • Previous NHS experience, Excellent communication skills

  • Excellent understanding of Data Protection and Information Governance policies

  • Clear understanding and ability to input data and information accurately.

  • Please note that the salary advertised is for full time hours. If this post is less than 37.5 hours per week, the salary will be pro-rata. For posts on Agenda for Change pay-scales, new entrants to the NHS will normally commence on the first pay point of the relevant band.

  • Disclosure and Barring Scheme (DBS)

    If the role you are applying for is identified as either controlled or regulated activity as defined in in the Safeguarding vulnerable Groups Act (2006) any offer of employment is provisional upon a satisfactory DBS check being obtained.

    The healthcare sector is exempted from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974.

    In line with other NHS organisations in the North West Region, the Trust is now passing the charge for undertaking a DBS check on to candidates in the event they are successfully appointed into the post for which they have applied. Candidates can choose whether to pay this over 1-3 months as a deduction from the monthly salary. However, if you are applying for a post as a BANK worker, the payment must be made in full at the time of employment checks.
