Are you a Supervisor who is passionate about providing excellent customer service to patients/carers/relatives
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 3 Reception Supervisor to work in Radiology Department at Darent Hospital. You will be working with colleagues and other health care personnel within the team who are qualified and unqualified to ensure smooth running of clinics and the delivery of all appropriate forms of patient care according to outpatient clinic standard and Trust policies, procedures and guidelines. You will be need to liase with medical staff, clinicians, health records staff and other departments as appropriate, in order to provide an excellent standard of care and customer service, The successful candidate will Supervisor Receptionists across All Radiology Reception desks covered by Dartford & Gravesham Trust including DVH, Queen Mary's, Gravesend and Community Diagnostic Centre
We are looking for you to apply if you are a motivated clinical reception Supervisor, with knowledge and experience in an acute or primary care setting. You will have excellent interpersonal, IT and communication skills with the ability to organise, manage and plan your workload effectively. You will need to be dedicated and passionate in your role working with patients/ carers/ relatives including those who may have specific needs such as mentally and /or physically impaired, young children, the elderly, the very ill, non-English speaking or hearing or visually impaired.
You will need to be energetic and dedicated in working, As The post holder will be responsible for Supervising a team of Radiology Receptionists, Attending patients, moving Orders to request on the CRIS system, Reports any accidents or incidents to the Team Leader and knows what actions to take in emergency situations. Welcoming patients in a courteous manner, checking and confirming
their personal details.
Assists in maintaining a safe environment for patients, visitors and other
staff, as required by the Health and Safety at Work Act.
Undertakes other duties as directed, such as cleaning, storing and
checking of equipment and the tidying of non-clinical and storage areas.
Works across Outpatients clinics on all Trust sites as required to deliver
the service.
Helping patients/carers/relatives in their enquiries or dealing with
complaints, referring them to a clinic nurse or Sister if unable to resolve
or appropriate.
2. Managerial responsibilities:
Acts as a designated receptionist, responsible for all aspects of clinic
administration for their named clinician.
Ensures all case notes are available and prepared, prior to the
commencement of the clinic
Ensures, post consultation that patients are booked out, follow-up
appointments are made and arrangements for transport
Reconciles the clinic at the end of the session, taking appropriate action
on patients who did not attend (DNAs) or cancelled their appointments.
Ensures safe custody of health records at all times, whilst they are in
the clinics or in transit to another area.
Ensures that health records are tracked to the correct location using the
PAS system.
Assist with ensuring that all necessary material resources are available
for clinic sessions.
Uses all resources appropriately and is aware of the consequences of
not doing so.
Maintains standards of performance for the department, reporting any
actual or potential shortfalls, to the Team Leader.
Assists in the implementation of National, Trust and Local policies
3. Professional responsibilities:
Undertakes any duties as requested in order that the clinics are able to
deliver and maintain services.
Promotes the Outpatient Department and Trust as a whole, in the most
positive manner to the patients and visitors, the local community, voluntary and other organisations, and other Trust staff at all times.
Works within their own capabilities and guided by Trust and Local
Policies
Attends and participates in departmental meetings
4. Education and development responsibilities:
Maintains and develops own job competence by attending statutory,
mandatory and other relevant study days and courses, participating in
on-the-job development and through self-development and reflection.
To participate in annual IPR and regularly update your Personal
Development Plan.
To participate in the induction and learning outcomes of new staff. Participates with tasks and projects as required, as well as supporting
others, in order to maintain and develop Outpatient Services
