Full Job Description

Camden Rapid Access Services is a Physical health admission avoidance service. Potential post holders should ideally possess a valid UK Driving licence (a car will be provided when required), though suitable non-driving candidates will be considered and provided with an Oyster card while on shift. Non-driving practitioners will be expected to be able to undertake the same number of visits per day as driving colleagues., Camden RAS covers the entire borough of Camden. Our overall aim is to avoid unnecessary hospital admissions, as part of the NHS Long term plan. The benefits of keeping patients in their own homes are numerous and varied, from reducing Healthcare Acquired Infections (HCAIs) to promoting ongoing independence.

Main duties of the job
Shifts
The shift times are 09am to 7pm for an early shift, 12pm to 10pm for a late shift and 9am to 10pm for a long day. There are also 8am starts and the shift end time will be adjusted (6pm for an early shift and 9pm for a long day)

Lone Working
Please be aware, this position regularly includes working alone in patients homes/in the community. This will also include evening hours when it is dark. PPE (reflective vests, torches, personal alarms etc) are available to team members. Please be assured we have safety systems in place and have an excellent safety record.

Are you a Registered Nurse or Paramedic seeking a new challenging role in the community? The Camden Rapid Access Services (Camden RAS) is currently seeking to employ a Band 6 Registered Nurse or Paramedic with substantial experience in acute care (e.g. A&E; AMU; Paramedic). The ideal candidate will be confident in top-to-toe examination and succinct history taking., You will need to possess at least basic knowledge of physical assessment skills (ideally you will have completed the Physical Assessment Module), be able to undertake a top-to-toe assessment and take a thorough, succinct history focusing on the presenting complaint. You should be forward thinking and able to prioritise based on clinical need. Acute skills and knowledge are essential.

Within the team we have Senior HCA's; Registered Nursing Assistant's; Registered Nurses; Paramedics; Occupational Therapists and Physiotherapists. Nearby, we have District Nursing, COPD and Heart Failure teams and have access to Virtual Ward and bridging packages of care. It's a big team of clinicians, all striving for the best outcomes for our service users and their families.
