Full Job Description

Our Quant Graduate Programme will provide you with the opportunity to contribute to and learn from groups such as the Investment Quant and Trading Strategy teams. You will also be provided with structured learning and continued development to enable you to succeed.

Quant

Our Quant team is comprised of Investment Quants (aligned to asset classes), and Core Quants (working cross-asset classes). These groups are responsible for the development and maintenance of pricing models, trading tools, risk management tools, relative value opportunity identification tools and other quantitative aspects of RCM's business.

You will be involved in key aspects of a quant project from understanding the business problem, modelling, solving the resultant maths problem, sourcing any required data, and then coding the production solution.

Trading Strategy

Our Trading Strategy team is mainly responsible for providing useful signals for discretionary trading, for example analysing fund flows and positioning, and monitoring government and corporate bond issuance to assess the impact on yields. Some members of the team also develop systematic trading strategies, generating signals that automate the recommendation of trades to the Investment desk. The team's output has high impact and visibility through regular engagement with the investment desk. The team also work closely with the Quant, Research, and Technology teams.

Proven academic success with top grades in a STEM subject at a leading university, with a minimum of 4yr post high school (4yr Bachelors or 3yr BSc + Taught Masters) or on track to a PhD.

Collaborative mindset

Strong teamwork skills with the ability to take the initiative and work independently to drive change. Strong and concise communication skills are a must.

Quantitative skills

We expect candidates to have exceptional numerical and logical reasoning skills.

Technical proficiency

Enthusiasm for technology, coupled with programming capabilities in at least one object-oriented language.

Financial acumen

Demonstrated understanding of financial concepts. Desire to build a career on the buy-side.

Innovative Problem Solver

Pragmatic approach to problem solving. Inquisitive, sharp and enthusiastic., Quantitative / STEM Masters or PhD degree (on track for a 1st or international equivalent)
