Full Job Description

The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching Religious Studies across Key Stages 3 and 4. Key responsibilities include:

  • Planning and delivering engaging and informative lessons that are aligned with the national curriculum, the school's RE syllabus, and cater to students of all faiths and none.
  • Creating a respectful and inclusive learning environment that encourages student participation, open dialogue, and critical thinking about religious beliefs, practices, and ethical issues.
  • Assessing and monitoring student progress, providing constructive feedback, and implementing differentiated learning strategies to cater to diverse learning needs.
  • Utilizing a variety of teaching resources, including sacred texts, philosophical debates, and contemporary issues, to enhance students' understanding of religion and its impact on the world.
  • Collaborating with colleagues within the Humanities department to develop and enhance the curriculum and share best practices.

    A degree in Religious Studies, Theology, Philosophy, or a related field.
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent teaching qualification.
  • A strong understanding of the KS3 and KS4 Religious Studies curriculum.
  • Excellent subject knowledge and a passion for religious studies.
  • Strong classroom management skills and the ability to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
