Full Job Description
The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching Religious Studies across Key Stages 3 and 4. Key responsibilities include:
- Planning and delivering engaging and thought-provoking lessons that meet the requirements of the national curriculum and the school's RE syllabus, fostering students' understanding of religious beliefs, practices, and ethical issues.
- Creating a respectful and inclusive learning environment that encourages student participation, open dialogue, and critical thinking about religion and its impact on individuals and societies.
- Assessing and monitoring student progress, providing constructive feedback, and implementing differentiated learning strategies to cater to diverse learning needs and perspectives.
- Utilizing a variety of teaching resources, including sacred texts, philosophical debates, and contemporary issues, to enhance students' understanding of different religions and worldviews.
- Collaborating with colleagues within the Humanities department to develop and enhance the curriculum, share best practices, and contribute to the school's commitment to promoting tolerance and understanding.
A diverse and inclusive secondary school in the vibrant borough of Lambeth is seeking to appoint a well-qualified and enthusiastic Religious Studies (RS) Teacher to join their successful Humanities department. This is a full-time, permanent position commencing in January 2025., A degree in Religious Studies, Theology, Philosophy, or a related field. - Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent teaching qualification.
- A strong understanding of the KS3 and KS4 Religious Studies curriculum.
