In doing so, the National Physical Laboratory is helping to combat issues on a global scale such as climate change, curing diseases and the development of cutting-edge communications technology. As a React Systems Developer you will be implementing and supporting development of NPL's Customer facing Digital Product Portfolio. Responsible for development, deployment and support of bespoke web applications and API frameworks to deliver digital commercial tools for NPL, primarily using React, .net core frameworks and Azure. You will contribute to the development roadmap and the timely delivery, test and deployment of digital tools for that roadmap. We are now working in a hybrid way, with a mix of remote and office working.   • Strong proficiency in JavaScript, including DOM manipulation and the JavaScript object model
  • Thorough understanding of React.js and its core principles
  • Experience with popular React.js workflows (such as Flux or Redux) is a plus
  • Familiarity with newer specifications of EcmaScript
  • Experience with data structure libraries (e.g., Immutable.js)
  • Familiarity with RESTful APIs
  • Knowledge of modern authorization mechanisms, such as JSON Web Token
  • Experience with common front-end development tools such as Babel, Webpack, NPM, etc.
  • Ability to understand business requirements and translate them into technical requirements
  • Familiarity with code versioning tools (such as Git/SVN)
