Full Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Finance & Accounting professional to lead the UK & Ireland's Lessee and Lessor system, as a key strategic advisor driving business efficiencies and data quality in accordance with accounting standards and best practice. Working as part of our Global Business Services (GBS) function, their mission is to 'make a better McDonald's' by accelerating the delivery of our vision and strategy by employing 3 'game changers': Customer Experience, Continuous Improvement, and Intelligent Automation. What will my accountabilities be?

  • You will drive alignment, achievement, and delivery of GBS goals with McDonald's global and local market objectives.
  • Engage and collaborate with stakeholders on operational performance metrics and measures, including assessing overall and individual achievement of service expectations and customer satisfaction.
  • Help shape and account for the key strategies which will drive our incremental, long-term sales growth and profitability.
  • Leading the development and implementation of efficient and effective internal controls, Finance & Accounting practices in accordance with local/US standards/Sarbanes Oxley delivering a robust controls environment.
  • Establish strategies to identify process deficiencies, enable improvements, monitor, and report on compliance in order to mitigate business risk.
  • Act as a mentor and coach, supporting development and creating an inclusive environment with robust talent pipeline.
  • Support in the design and implementation of global finance and transformation projects
  • Participate on cross-functional teams as assigned by Senior Leadership, including presenting to and providing regular business updates across the McDonald's community.
  • Drive Continuous Improvement and Automation strategy to get better together.
  • Cultivate a team of high performance/high potential individuals. Developing skills and capabilities to deliver in-scope services and plan for future opportunities, automation, and elevating experience.

    The successful applicant will be a Qualified Accountant (ICAEW/ACCA/ICAS) with in-depth knowledge and technical expertise in Finance & Accounting including:
  • Significant Team (15+) & Business Management experience in a fast paced, high volume transaction environment.
  • Able to demonstrate process improvement against a backdrop of IT system implementation - TRIRIGA Asset Management system recently implemented in UK&I and Oracle Fusion ERP will be implemented in the next 18 months.
  • Prior experience in US GAAP or US international companies
  • Proficient with PowerPoint, Excel, Cloud/Collaboration technologies
  • Desirable:
  • A background in Public Accounting, Audit Practice
