As a tax graduate associate, you will help clients be proactive and keep ahead of changing legislation in a digital age, optimising their tax position and minimising risk. The constantly evolving landscape calls for an approach that puts what is right first and you will need to push ideas harder and ask difficult questions, giving our clients the assurance they need.

We advise real estate funds, global institutional investors, REITs, private investors, the public sector, on investment into UK and pan-European real estate providing tax structuring, tax compliance and tax due diligence advice. We work in all real estate sectors including commercial, office, student housing, industrial logistics, retail and hotels. We advise primarily on Corporation Tax, along with Stamp Taxes, Capital Gains, and every other related niche in this market. Through leading on transactional and advisory projects, we also frequently work closely with other specialist teams and international member firms, allowing our people to gain a good awareness of other taxes, such as VAT.

Within the Real Estate Tax team at Grant Thornton, we have a specialist capital allowances team. Our capital allowances team works with businesses to help them to maximise tax relief for qualifying capital expenditure incurred as part of their real estate operations. We use our market leading software to bring real tax savings and value to our clients. We also advise on transactions, helping our clients to mitigate risk through careful drafting and practical recommendations.

  • Hands on experience in the different aspects of tax, with a variety of clients

    Study

    You'll need to be focused, committed, and organised as a trainee, to balance your study and work requirements. You will be provided with study leave to help you complete your professional qualification but you will also find you need to study in your spare time outside of your working hours.
