Full Job Description

We are recruiting for a Liaison Worker to join our Reasonable Adjustment Service at the Slade Site in Oxford. You'll be instrumental in implementing change so that autistic people and people with a learning disability can access services in a way that is productive and meaningful for them.
This role is integral in our aim to minimise inappropriate or avoidable admissions, safely reduce length of admissions, and reduce the delay of discharges for autistic service users and ensure an equitable service to autistic people.

Access to a car or alternative travel for business use is essential as this role involves client visits all over Oxfordshire. If necessary, adjustments can be considered in line with the Equality Act 2010. Our team operates a hybrid working pattern so you will need to be able to work effectively from home and travel to the Oxford office as required.
Please note this advert may close earlier than advertised once sufficient applications are received, We work across Oxfordshire with clinicians in Oxford Health Mental Health Services and Oxfordshire County Council to support access for autistic adults to these services and pathways.
We are leading the development of resources and delivering training to support clinicians in understanding autism through the lens of difference, not impairment, and empower clinicians with the knowledge and skills to reasonably adjust their approach in line with the Equality Act (2010).
In this role you will:
+ Work with Oxford Health Mental Health and Oxfordshire County Council Services in both inpatient and community settings, to support the access for autistic adults into these services and pathways
+ Be involved in the development of new approaches to reasonable adjustments and move away from the medicalised view of Autism as an impairment and reframing this as a form of Neurodiversity
+ Actively advocate for adaptations and adjustments to approaches and services to better
accommodate the needs of autistic individuals and or people with a learning disability to be
more inclusive of a variety of needs
+ Work with service users with guidance from senior clinicians to gain better insight into their autism and or learning disability and how this impacts on their sensory, cognitive and social experiences
