Full Job Description

Depending on shift pattern open and close premises Answer the phone promptly ensuring it is continually manned Deal with patients enquiries efficiently and courteously Care navigate patients appropriately Make new and follow-up appointments with GPs, nurses, specialists etc. Receive and route patients on arrival Receive and record requests for home visits assessing urgency and pass on messages as per protocol Collect appropriate fees for non-NHS services Keep waiting area tidy Complete hospital laboratory forms as necessary Act as chaperone if requested Receive, record and relay messages for District Nurses, Health Visitors and other professionals Ensure that unresolved messages are passed on to colleagues. Read the message book at the start of every shift. E-mail should be opened and kept open at all times. File and issue prescriptions to patients, pharmacies and nursing homes. File and issue sick notes and personal correspondence to patients Any other delegated duties considered
