Reception Team Lead

As a Reception Team Lead at our Haywards Heath Hospital, you'll have great communication, IT and keyboard skills. You're also able to explain sensitive or complicated information in a way that's clear, sympathetic and easy to understand. Ideally, you have experience of working in healthcare administration or on reception. The role will be managing the Main Reception, Ward Reception and 2nd Floor Reception.

As a Reception Team Lead, you will:

• Help people feel comfortable when they visit your department.


• Use your empathy and customer service skills to build positive relationships.


• Answer the phone, deal with enquiries and book appointments.


• Welcome patients in person, directing them to the appropriate changing or waiting rooms.


• Work closely with colleagues to ensure the department runs smoothly.


• Prepare clinical paperwork, referral forms, charge sheets, and terms and conditions.


• Manage and coordinate the Main reception and Ward reception administration team rotas.


• Handle all enquiries or queries raised efficiently and effectively, escalating appropriately where necessary.


• Ensure team time sheets are completed accurately.


• Supervise all reception activities and assist colleagues accordingly.


• Ensure all work within the team meets all required standards and timescales.


• Undertake regular one to one reviews with individual team members: set and monitor individual objectives.


• Be responsible for managing departmental risk assessments (training provided).


• Promote effective communication and collaborative working between each reception area.
