Full Job Description

The role is based in a busy reception area within the Children's Development Centre and will be to provide a welcoming and confidential reception service and administrative support as part of the Single Point of Access (SPA) for community services provided to patients and their families and wider community services provided by other health and social care stakeholders.
Please note that this post may not meet the pay and skill level required for a Skilled worker visa
Successful applicants with no prior NHS experience would normally be placed at the bottom of the band in line with Agenda for Change. This salary is below the minimum salary required for sponsorship for a Skilled Worker / Health & Care visa and also does not appear on the shortage occupation list for healthcare and education.
In these circumstances the Trust would not, therefore, be able to sponsor for a Skilled Worker / Health & Care visa.

This is a customer facing role, based in a busy reception area at the Children's Development Centre. The role requires the post holder to provide a comprehensive efficient, confidential, and tactful reception, clerical and administrative service for the department. This includes welcoming and dealing with children, young people, and their families on arrival to the centre, taking telephone calls from patients and/or their families, making appointments and formatting correspondence.
The post holder must have the ability to deal with sensitive and confidential information.

You will be required to complete mandatory training to assist your professional development., To work under the supervision of the Admin Team Lead.
To undertake reception duties, to include meeting patients, visitors and staff and dealing with face-to-face and telephone enquiries.
To work in partnership with the children's community service teams to ensure referral pathways are followed, communicating with education, health and social care, statutory and voluntary organisations.
To maintain health care records including computerised systems and databases.
To deal with complex and confidential information.
To receive and made internal and external telephone calls from staff, service users, patients, members of the public and external agencies, ensuring that messages received are appropriately signposted and actioned.
To facilitate effective communication and liaison across professional organisational boundaries.
To format correspondence templates as required.
To co-ordinate healthcare appointments for patients.
Ensure the reception is welcoming and tidy at all times
Receive and distribute mail
Update noticeboards and posters as requested
Complete essential training
Participate in supervision and personal appraisal
