Full Job Description

We are seeking a dynamic and personable individual to join our team as a Receptionist and Administrations Assistant at the Town Hall, Ilford. As the first point of contact for customers, you will play a crucial role in representing our service with professionalism and warmth. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, a friendly demeanour, smart appearance and the ability to handle a variety of administrative tasks efficiently:

  • Greet and welcome customers in a courteous and professional manner.
  • Manage the reception area, ensuring it is clean and organised.
  • Check -in, book and coordinate appointments.
  • Handle incoming and outgoing mail and packages.
  • Assist with administrative tasks such as managing emails, filing, and maintaining office supplies.
  • Provide general information to customers.
  • Handle enquiries and resolve issues or direct them to the appropriate department.
  • Support the Registrars with various tasks as needed.

    Excellent communication skills, a smart appearance, and a friendly and positive character.
  • Confidence in public speaking, along with the ability to understand and apply rules and procedures.
  • Strong communication and organisational skills to handle unexpected situations and maintain accurate records.
  • The capability to work independently and use your own initiative in challenging situations.
  • The role can become challenging with a variety of work to learn but the diversity of this and the provision of a customer facing service makes it worthwhile. Some registration experience is preferred but not necessary; training and mentoring will be provided to enhance your knowledge as well as advice and support.
